A 2017 Toyota 4 Runner, driven by Brian Yockey of Granville, was also traveling westbound on the ramp. Witnesses told troopers that Williams had slowed because of heavy traffic on I-70 and Yockey’s vehicle struck the rear of Williams car.
Both vehicles traveled off the right side of the roadway and stopped outside traffic.
The Williams car had three passengers, including one adult and two children. The child in the left rear seat died of her injuries. Williams and the two other passengers were taken to area hospitals.
The crash remains under investigation.
