Medical issue may have led to Mount Victory man's crash, death

A Mount Victory man was pronounced dead Monday afternoon after his vehicle went off Route 95 in Montgomery Township, Marion County, the State Highway Patrol said.

Gordon Rothfuss, 44, was driving east on Route 95 at about 12:40 p.m. when his a 2007 Jeep Patriot went off of the right side of the road and through a ditch before coming to rest next to a house about a quarter-mile west of Larue-Prospect Road, the patrol said.

Rothfuss was taken to Marion General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the patrol said.

Troopers say Rothfuss was wearing his seat belt and there was no apparent damage to the vehicle. The incident is being investigated as a medical death.
