Teenager accidentally shot on Northeast Side, police say

A boy accidentally shot himself Wednesday afternoon in Columbus’ Northeast Side, police said.

The boy was playing with a gun on Jermain Drive when it went off, according to dispatchers.

Police and Columbus fire paramedics responded to a 2:39 p.m. call about the shooting.

The boy was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, where he was listed in critical condition.
