Multiple animals were seized by Columbus Humane on Tuesday after search warrants were executed at a Southwest Columbus home and pet store.

The search warrants were executed with the assistance of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at a home on Demorest Road on the Southwest Side and at Grove City Reptiles, located at 3578 W. Broad St.

An investigation began after reports of mistreatment of animals.

The pet store is operated by the same man who owns the home on Demorest Road. No criminal charges have been filed against the man as of Tuesday afternoon.

The seized animals include reptiles, adult dogs and puppies. The exact number of animals and their condition was not immediately known.

Columbus Humane officials said they anticipated more information being available Tuesday afternoon.
